MODULES x 10
M: My favourite things
Exploring the activities and hobbies you enjoyed before you were a mum.
Y : ‘Yes’ to the things that matter
As Mums, time is our most valuable resource – though we often squander it by agreeing to do things for others that have no benefit to ourselves. In this module, I will ask you to focus on how and when you say yes and how to politely turn things down or delegate (without feeling guilty) when energy could be better focused elsewhere.
I: Independence
Many women feel their independence has left the building when little ones arrive, but while life does have to change, there are little steps you can take to regain control.
D: Decision-making
This module gives you some tools and principles around decision-making so you can feel confident in your choices. Advice is in no short supply and can even at times feel overwhelming. This module will help you gratefully receive it but also sift through and break down what is right for you.
E: Evaluating what’s important
Here we will explore the whole family. I want you to dig deep and fully understand not only what is important to you but elements of your family life that are important.
N: ‘No’ to the things that don’t matter
By now you will be feeling strong, confident and most of all self-aware. Here we will identify and work towards eliminating anything that is holding you back along with how to say ‘no’ to the things that just don’t fit your new life.
T: Time management
Here I will give you tools and exercises to help prioritise your time and start carving out that all important ‘me’ time.
I: Inspire confidence
This module focusses on identifying people who may be struggling with the same issues you’re currently facing and sharing what you’ve learned with them to give something back. Motherhood is not exclusive club. We should be as inclusive as possible. Tell people your stories and struggles etc. You will inspire confidence in others and in turn feel strong in yourself.
T: Talk about it
The course is coming to an end, so in this module we delve into the importance of saying it out loud and looking to the future – why it’s important to keep talking, sharing and building a support network.
Y: You, mark 2, the best version of!
It’s time to reflect on the last two and a half months, identifying the obstacles that you came up against and the new tools you discovered to deal with them.
Motherhood is an amazing, surprising and challenging journey. Please take some time over the coming weeks and months to reflect on both the struggles and the smiles your child brings to your life.
“There is no one perfect way to be a good mother. Each situation is unique. Each mother has different challenges, different skills and abilities, and certainly different children. The choice is different and unique for each mother and each family.”
